Gun violence affects everyone in Portland. We all want to keep our families safe and while no one law can stop all tragedies, there are crucial policy decisions we can make to save lives. I support common sense laws that encourage gun safety and responsible gun ownership.
That is why I am incredibly proud to have received the Gun Sense Candidate distinction from Moms Demand Action. Our city has the power to protect Portlanders from gun violence and support effective violence prevention programs, but we need to elect people who are dedicated to the cause.
“We endorse Marnie Glickman for Portland City Council because community safety is her top priority. She is a Moms Demand Action Gun Sense candidate because she will govern with the goal of ending gun violence and reducing harm in Portland.” – Cicely Thrasher and Amie Wexler, Oregon Co-Chairs of Moms Demand Action & residents of Portland City Council District 2
There were 1,023 shooting incidents in Portland in 2023. As one of your city council members, I will commit myself to working with Cicely, Amie, survivors, and all stakeholders to reduce the amount of gun violence in Portland.
But I can't do it alone. I need more Portlanders to invest in this campaign. Thanks to our democratic public financing option, small + grassroots campaigns like oura can turn $5 into $50. This money will go right back into financing our outreach efforts to make sure the voters of Portland's District 2 recognize my name and understand my values.
We CAN do this, Sincerely, Marnie Glickman.
