Earlier this month, I attended a briefing at Marin County Board of Education's office on SB 415, an election law which requires most local governments to hold their elections in even years. The Dixie Board of Trustees has two options. Option 1 is to extend the terms of the three members we will elect in November 2017 to 2022 and the two members we will elect in November 2019 to 2024. Option 2 is to extend the terms of all sitting trustees one year. Dick Spotswood wrote about the law in his column yesterday. I encourage you to read Dick's column on the Marin IJ website.
