Here is my new worm composter. We've named each of our 300 worms Zoe.
They are starting their first day in our backyard in a warm bed of coir, local organic carrots, kale, old homemade bread and this Sunday's Marin IJ. We next check on them in 3 days.
Although the Las Gallinas Valley Sanitary District, through Marin Sanitary, provides curbside composting to our residents, I encourage more people to make and use homemade compost in their own gardens. It's cost-effective, easy and fun.
